MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel leaned on the reigning Most Valuable Player to upend Rain or Shine in overtime, 107-101, and keep their winning streak alive during the second game of PBA's hostilies at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.

June Mar Fajardo unloaded five of his 25 game points in the extra period to lead the Beermen past the Elasto Painters and extend their run to seven.

RR Garcia tallied the second most points with 17. Arwind Santos chimed in 16 while Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter had 14 apiece.

But it was Chris Ross who put the icing on the cake, drilling the final jumpshot with a second left in OT.

"I think this game was [about going against] a well-prepared team. They knew what to do  against us. But our players refused to lose," head coach Leo Austria said.

Cabagnot, who was still sporting a mask to protect his injured nose, lived up to his "Crunchman" moniker as he drilled a triple with 1.8 on the clock to send the game to overtime.

"Medyo swerte kami, I think Rain or Shine [played their] game. Unfortunately for them, Alex had something in mind. Lumabas 'yung pinapractice niya. That's what he practice--yung last shot niya," Austria added, who also dedicated the game to San Miguel top honcho Ramon Ang who just turned 62.

San Miguel remain firmly latched atop the Philippine Cup standings with 8-1.

Meanwhile, Rain or Shine drops to 5-3 and is joined by GlobalPort in the second spot.
