MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-5.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Batangas on Tuesday night and was felt in Metro Manila.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, hit at 8:58 p.m. on Tuesday.
Philvolcs said that the exact location of the jolt was at 13.71°N, 120.83°E - 007 km N 37° West of Tingloy, Batangas. The depth of the quake was measured at 3 kilometers.
No damage was reported although aftershocks could be expected, according to the government agency.
The quake was felt at Intensity IV in Makati City and Bulacan while Intensity III was felt in Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, Santa Ana in Manila, General Trias and Dasmariñas in Cavite and Lucena City in Quezon City.
Intensity II was recorded in Talisay, Batangas and Pasig City.
