UNTV conducts leadership enhancement seminar for PNP officers
PHILIPPINES — PNP Training Service Director Police Chief Superintendent John Sosito is delighted with the all-out support of Kuya Daniel Razon to the advocacies of Chief PNP Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.
UNTV has partnered with the Philippine National Police in holding a two-day enhancement seminar in Morong Star Beach Resort and Hotel in Bataan.
The event aims at improving the leadership skills of the police officers for better public service.
“Ito’y sponsor ng UNTV kaya kami nagpapasalamat. This is in consonance with the project of our chief PNP, the PNP leadership to go back to the basic regarding leadership of their law enforcers, plus the review on police operational procedures,” PNPTS Director PCSupt. John Q. Sosito said.
(UNTV sponsored our food and accommodation that’s why we are thankful. This is in consonance with the project of our chief PNP, the PNP leadership to go back to the basic regarding leadership of their law enforcers, plus the review on police operational procedures.)
Police Senior Inspector Juneil Perez from Cagayan Valley is one of the 50 police officers from Region 1, 2 and 3 who participated in the training. He says he has learned much from the event making his 14-hour travel to the venue worth it.
“Gagamitin din namin ito sa pag-uwi namin sa aming probinsya. Irere-echo din namin sa aming mga tao para sa ganon continuous yung learning natin.”
(We will also use this when we return to our province. We will teach what we have learned to our personnel so that there will be continuous learning.)
Atty. Emilie Delos Santos, a city prosecutor, explains the importance of the role of the police. She says how law enforcement and prosecution go hand in hand to attain justice.
“Kung anung ebidensya ang ipapasok ng pulis sa isang kaso na criminal case, yun ang gagamitin naming sa pagsasampa ng habla sa husgado at kung gaano kaganda ang ebidensya, makakuha kami ng conviction kung mahina ang ebidensiya, sa amin pa lang sasabihin namin walang probable cause.”
(Whatever evidence the police presents in a criminal case, that is what we will use in pressing charges before the court and however good the evidence is. We can get conviction if the evidence is weak. On our part, we can say whether there is no probable cause.)
For General Sosito, moral enhancement is important for the police to stay focused on their sworn duties to the nation.
“Sa law enforcers, ang isa sa pinaka-biblia namin ay ang law on criminal procedures plus rules on evidence so we really want to get a lecturer that is really well-verse of the subject matter base from the experience para matuto at magkapaliwanagan to strengthen, lalong maging magaling kapulisan natin.”
(Among the bibles of the law enforcers are the law on criminal procedures plus rules on evidence so we really want to get a lecturer that is really well-versed in the subject matter based from the experience so our police will learn and be enlightened, strengthened and improved.)
UNTV will continue to support the PNP to conduct this kind of enhancement seminar in the provinces of Aklan, Cebu, and General Santos City. — Bryan Evangelista | UNTV News & Rescue
