NPA fires at military convoy in quake-hit Surigao

A military convoy was attacked by still unidentified armed group in Surigao Del Norte.
Based on a statement released by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), it was at past 8:00 p.m. Tuesday when the military convoy, which also included some civilians, was attacked in Sitio Huwat Baboy, Barangay Lingonan, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte.
The AFP said the convoy has just conducted distribution of relief goods to residents of Barangay Karihatag, Mali Mono who were affected by the earthquake, and were returning to Surigao City.
There were no casualties in the incident which was suspected to be perpetrated by members of the New People’s Army (NPA).
The AFP added that they are proceeding with relief goods distribution despite the incident. — UNTV News and Rescue
