2 lawmakers to endorse new impeachment complaint vs CJ Sereno
MANILA, Philippines — There are 27 articles of impeachment with 54 pages and more than 250 page attachments.
This is the whole impeachment complaint that the lawyer and former senatorial candidate Larry Gadon plans to file against Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
But unlike the first filed impeachment complaint against the chief justice there are two lawmakers who showed interest in endorsing it.
“Dalawang mag-eendorse, ayaw lang ipasabi ang pangalan,” said Atty. Gadon. “Ang usapan namin ay itong next week, ako’y babalik doon upang finally ay mai-submit ko na ito sa Office of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives.”
(Translation: There will be two endorsers, but they don’t want to be named yet. We agreed that I will return next week to finally submit this [complaint] to the Office of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives.)
Aside from this, the complaint identified some officials of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) and employees under the office of CJ Sereno who may possibly be called upon or subpoenaed by Congress in case the complaint pushes through.
“Sila kasi yung nasa Office of the Chief Justice na nakakaalam sa mga papeles tungkol dun sa mga travel allowances and yung ibang papeles dun na pwedeng ipa-subpoena ng House sakaling mag-conduct ng hearing,” said Gadon.
(Translation: These are the ones from the Office of the Chief Justice who know about the documents regarding the travel allowances and other papers that the House may subpoena in case they conduct a hearing.)
Another complaint by Gadon is the purchasing of a luxury car of Chief Justice Sereno worth P5.1 million aside from the millions spent to bullet proof the car.
