MANILA, Philippines — And the last finals ticket belongs to the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles survived the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, 25-22, 25-10, 16-25, 26-24, in the UAAP 79 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Sunday.
Michelle Morente led the Lady Eagles with 16 points built on 12 attacks, three service aces and a block.
Ateneo punched their sixth straight finals appearance and will face their fiercest rival De La Salle University, also for the sixth straight time.
FEU arrived at set point first in the fourth set, but Ana Gopico and Mich Morente conspired to deny the Lady Tamaraws a rubber set.
Bernadeth Pons led the Lady Tamaraws with 14 points
FEU team captain Rem Palma played her last UAAP game with 12 points.
Game One of the best of three finals between Ateneo and La Salle will be on Saturday at the same venue.
