5 drug suspects slain in Luzon
Five suspected drug personalities were killed in separate incidents in Luzon in the past two days.
The body of an unidentified woman was found stuffed in a sack along the road in Barangay Bangbangar in Bangued, Abra yesterday. A piece of cardboard identifying her as a drug pusher was found in the sack.
Police said the body of the victim bore gunshot wounds.
Also yesterday, Edgardo Apolinar, 43, a resident of Barangay Nagsabaran in Bangar, La Union, was gunned down by motorcycle-riding men while cleaning his tricycle at around 10:40 a.m.
Chief Inspector Silverio Ordinado Jr., La Union police information officer, said the fatality was on their drug watchlist.
Jefferson Arnedo, a resident of Barangay Turdo in Luna, Apayao, was driving his motorcycle in Barangay Quirino when two men on another motorcycle fired at him on Monday. He died on the way to a hospital.
Eight bullet shells for a .45-caliber pistol were recovered at the scene.
Police said the victim was on the watchlist of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
In Benguet, a man was found dead in a grassy lot in Sitio Pasnaan in Barangay Caponga in Tublay town also on Monday.
Senior Police Officer 4 Primo Morales said nine bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol and P100 in cash were recovered near the body of the victim.
Another man who has yet to be identified was found dead at a rice field along Baka-Baka road in Barangay Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan on Monday.
Witnesses said unidentified men in a tricycle dumped the body of the victim.
The body was placed in a black garbage bag with a note that read, “pusher ako huwag tularan kayo na susunod (I’m a pusher, don’t emulate, you are next).” – Raymund Catindig, Ric Sapnu, Jun Elias
