Miley Cyrus performs with Billy Joel and Paul Simon in New York
Billy Joel surprised fans in New York City on Saturday night (30Sep17) by forming an unlikely trio with Miley Cyrus and Paul Simon at his monthly residency gig.
The Piano Man icon regularly invites his famous friends to join him onstage for his Madison Square Garden residency shows, and this weekend's gig was no different as Joel first introduced his old pal Simon to the audience.
"From the borough of Queens, please welcome Mr. Paul Simon!," he told the crowd, as Simon stepped out with an acoustic guitar to perform his tracks The Boxer and Late in the Evening.
Moments later, Joel revealed he had another treat for attendees as 24-year-old Cyrus appeared onstage, dressed in a vintage black Billy Joel T-shirt and gold lame pants.
After delivering a powerful rendition of New York State of Mind, Joel smiled, "The girl's got pipes."
Cyrus later returned to the stage to perform with both Simon and Joel, who took a seat at the piano while his guests traded lines for his 1980 hit You May Be Right.
Pop star Cyrus had flown in to New York from Nashville, Tennessee, where she had treated her fans to another star collaboration, teaming up with her dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, at her Young Now album release party on Friday night (29Sep17).
The proud dad interviewed his daughter for a question and answer session at the event, before they joined forces for a cover of Nancy Sinatra's classic 1960s anthem These Boots Are Made For Walkin', as well as Billy Ray's catchy Achy Breaky Heart.
