Signal No. 2 up in 5 areas as 'Odette' traverses Apayao

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 2 has been hoisted in five areas as tropical storm Odette maintains its strength and traverses Apayao province.
At 7 a.m., the storm was located in the vicinity of Calanasan, Apayao packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gusts of up to 120 kph.
Odette is forecasted to move west southwest at 24 kph, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
Public storm warning signals are raised in the following areas:
Signal No. 2
Babuyan group of islands
Signal No. 1
"Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm," PAGASA said.
The weather disturbance is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility between Friday night and Saturday morning.
