Winnie Harlow still floored at scoring dream Victoria's Secret gig
Winnie Harlow is constantly pinching herself after achieving her dream of walking in the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
The Canadian stunner, who rose to fame on Tyra Banks' hit reality show America's Next Top Model in 2014, lived out her fantasy last week (08Nov18) by strutting her stuff for the lingerie brand in New York City, where she joined returning beauties Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Adriana Lima, and Candice Swanepoel, among others.
Winnie was thrilled to make history by hitting the runway at the annual event and is still in disbelief a week on from the show.
"(It) blows my mind. I can't even believe it," she told U.S. newswoman Robin Roberts on her #thriverthursday interview series. "I'm a trailblazer. It's insane, it's actually insane to me. By just being yourself, the things that you can achieve, it's so crazy.
"I'm going to be the first model with vitiligo walking for Victoria's Secret. It's a door opening for everyone. We are all the same because we are all different."
And while Winnie is proud of her unique appearance and making Victoria's Secret history, she wishes the media didn't always centre her interviews on her condition, which affects skin pigmentation.
"(It's) so, so frustrating," the 24-year-old admitted. "Especially, there's certain things, like I remember going to Europe when I first started doing interviews and this woman, one of her questions was, 'How do you feel beautiful? Like, why do you feel beautiful?' I just had to look at her and was like, 'You're so ignorant.'"
The 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on U.S. TV on 2 December.
