Fooling around: Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano during their "My Ex and Whys" press con Philstar.com/Deni Rose M. Afinidad-Bernardo
MANILA, Philippines — If there is a "why" actress Liza Soberano would like her beau Enrique Gil to answer, what will it be?
“Bakit ako ang nagustuhan mo sa lahat ng pwede mo namang magustuhan?” she asked during the recent press conference of their new movie, “My Ex and Whys.”
To which Enrique quickly replied: “Eh nalaman ko na crush mo ko!”
“Joke lang!” the actor quickly dismissed.
“Dahil siguro iba ka sa kanila kasi may ibang tao, ‘pag nakikilala ko, parang may ibang anyo, parang may costume silang sinusuot. There’s like some defense for people not to take them the wrong way. Kung papaano sila mag-act in the house, iba sila ‘pag nag-act in public. Pero ikaw, hindi ka naman siguro ganun. Kung ano s’ya sa bahay, ganun din s’ya sa labas. You don’t have to make tantsa or to guess who she is,” he explained.
Enrique, on the other hand, has this "why" to throw at Liza: “Bakit ako ang naging pinaka-close mo?”
“Eh s’yempre, ikaw ang nakakasama ko parati! May choice pa ba ‘ko?” the actress was quick to answer.
She then added: “Alam mo naman yun e! Pareho tayo ng handler noon. Nagkatrabaho tayo sa ‘Just the Way You Are,’ tapos nagka-show tayo, ‘Forevermore.’ S’yempre magkasama tayo araw-araw, naging close tayo, nag-uusap tayo. Tapos, araw-araw trabaho natin magkasama. Naging close talaga tayo…Ganun naman talaga nagsimula yung friendship.”
“Pero ang feeling ko, parang na-in-love ka na talaga sa’kin!” Enrique butted on.
According to him, if two people keep on asking whys, then there is still something going on between them.
“Kaya di pa rin sila nakaka-move on. ‘Di mawawala yung baggage kung alam mong meron pa (kayong nararamdaman sa isa’t isa). It takes time,” he asserted.
He was confident to note that he had no "whys" to ask his exes. “Kung meron, e ‘di hindi ako nakapag-move on!”
Moving on depends on a person, he said. “It depends on you if you still have an unfinished business or kung may kailangan ka for you to move on.”
Likewise, he asked their fans to move on from their clamor to have a second book for “Forevermore” because so far, they have no plans to do it.
“Siguro, ‘pag matanda na kami, ‘pag ako na si tatang,” he said. “Probably, in the future, or another love team will remake it for us.”
Somebody in the press conference joked that if the series would have a sequel, it could be titled “Forevermost.”
