Four teams have the potential to make it to the Final Four: FEU, NU, UP and UST.
The FEU Lady Tamaraws punched their ticket to the semifinals after eliminating the UP Lady Maroons convincingly last Wednesday.
Their final standing, however, will depend on the UST-NU match on Saturday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
FEU ended the elimination round at 8-6 (26 pts). UST is at 8-5 (24 pts) while NU is at 7-6 (19 pts).
Should UST win on Saturday, The Tigresses will finish third, FEU fourth and NU is eliminated.
A UST loss, regardless of how many sets, will put FEU at third.
Why? Should UST lose in three or four sets, they will not earn any point. Should they lose in five, they get one point.
That will give them 25 points. And with a three way tie at 8-6, FEU will clinch third place.
UST and NU will figure in a knockout game for the Final Four spot.
So virtually, UST holds a twice-to-beat advantage against the Lady Bulldogs.
The Tigresses are raring to return to the Final Four after a four-year drought. The Lady Bulldogs, meanwhile, last appeared in the Final Four in Season 77.
