Blue Dragons seek to rebound vs Dolphins

MANILA, Philippines — Diliman College tries to get back on track as it collides with Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas today even as St. Joseph College of Bulacan guns for its first win in the Universities and Colleges Basketball league Season 3 at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque.

Reeling from a stinging 61-88 loss to the Centro Escolar U Scorpions last week, the Blue Dragons hope to rebound against the Dolphins in the 12 noon showdown.

Diliman kicked off its campaign with a 55-point rout (126-71) of St. Joseph, only to struggle, misfire and drop a 27-point blowout to the Scorpions.

“We have to be extra careful and play with a sense of urgency this time. We can’t afford to relax,” said Diliman coach Rensy Bajar.

The St. Joseph side, meanwhile, squares off with the LPU Pirates at 2 p.m., vows to snap back-to-back losses.

The Pirates are also on a two-game slid since hurdling their opening game assignment but are slightly favored to break the slump against the league newcomers.

The league is backed by CafeFrance, Hapee Toothpaste, Gerry’s Grill, MaxSell Power Tool, Yakult, TanduayAthletics, Toyota Motor Philippines and Tough Mama Home and Kitchen Appliances.
