UCBL: CEU scores 4th straight lopsided victory, Diliman wins back-to-back

MANILA, Philippines — Centro Escolar University scored its fourth straight blowout win while Diliman College chalked up its first back-to-back wins in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League Season 3 yesterday at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.

Banking on the red-hot shooting of Pierce Tyron Chan and Rich Lorenz Guinitaran, the CEU Scorpions mauled the Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas Dolphins, 112-71, while the Diliman Blue Dragons waylaid the Lyceum-Batangas Pirates, 103-68.

Like in their 120-46 drubbing of St. Joseph College of Bulacan last Monday, the Scorpions needed just one big scoring salvo to improve to 4-1.

The loss was PCU’s fifth in six games of the event backed by CaféFrance, Yakult, Gerry’s Grill, Hapee Toothpaste, MaxSell Power Tool and Tough Mama Home and Kitchen Appliances, Tanduay Athletics and Toyota Motor Philippines.
