Diliman Blue Dragons aim for seventh win vs SJC

MANILA, Philippines — Diliman College tries to secure a semis playoff when it goes for its seventh win against winless St. Joseph College-Bulacan today in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 3 at the Olivarez College in Parañaque.

Coming off another big win over the Olivarez College Sea Lions, the Blue Dragons are installed heavy favorites in their 2 p.m. tussle with the St. Joseph dribblers who have yet to win in seven games.

Meantime, Technological Institute of the Philippines tries to shore up its own semis bid when it tackles Lyceum at 12 noon.

The TIP Engineers are looking for their third straight win that will improve their 4-3 record while Lyceum is in dire need of a win to revive its faltering semis bid.

Lyceum’s crushing defeat to CEU dropped the Pirates to 3-4.

Despite St. Joseph’s seeming lack of experience, Diliman coach Rensy Bajas is not taking a chance, saying: “We don’t want to be their first victim so I challenged the boys to start strong and be aggressive on both ends.”

A victory will enable Diliman to tie Centro Escolar University for the lead at 7-1.
