F2 Logistics joins opening day Superliga winners

MANILA, Philippines — The favorites immediately flexed their muscles in the Chooks to Go Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference, trumpeting their serious bids for the league’s centerpiece crown with masterful straight-set triumphs on Day One.


Taking its cue from defending champion Petron which dismantled Cocolife in the preceding game, fancied F2 Logistics hammered out a 25-16, 25-19, 25-19 quick work of Cignal HD Spikers Tuesday night as the Cargo Movers joined rival Blaze Spikers and curtain-raiser victor Smart Giga Hitters atop the standings.


Skipper Cha Cruz-Behag turned in 12 points while Kim Dy and Majoy Baron had 11 apiece to lead the scoring parade backstopped by Ara Galang, the MVP of the Invitational Conference, who had eight digs and nine excellent receptions in addition to her eight markers, and Kim Fajardo who tossed 34 excellent sets.


“Good start sa amin para sa amin,” said F2 coach Ramil de Jesus, whose wards capped an opener of straight-set romps that saw Smart blank Sta. Lucia, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23, and Petron sweep Cocolife, 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.
